Tooth Bleaching

Bright white teeth are desirable for many people as they signal health and attractiveness.

Unfortunately, many foods and beverages, such as tea, coffee, red wine, or tobacco, leave their mark and discolor the teeth. The discolorations can vary from barely visible to dark brown, depending on the patient. For those who want to show off brighter teeth again, tooth whitening, or bleaching, is a solution.

How is bleaching performed?

Before the first bleaching session, the teeth must be professionally cleaned in our practice, and existing fillings must be checked. If dental restoration is necessary, bleaching is performed beforehand because crowns, bridges, or inlays cannot be whitened, and we need to adjust them to your new tooth color.

Tooth bleaching works with the help of chemical substances. Active oxygen decolorizes unwanted color pigments in the tooth. The active ingredient is applied to the teeth in the form of a gel.

A new method of bleaching involves using a light source to achieve strong bleaching in a short time. First, a gel is applied to the tooth necks and gums to protect them. Then, the bleaching agent is applied to your teeth, and the bleaching is carried out with the special light.

To maintain the good results of bleaching, you should brush your teeth regularly and have a dental hygiene session performed at least every 6 months.
