We would like to emphasize that optimal consultation is only possible in person. We cannot conduct consultations over the phone. Only in our practice can we assess your individual situation.

First Visit to the Practice

When you visit our practice for the first time, please bring the following:

  • Existing X-rays
  • Any other relevant medical documents
  • Allergy card, if available
  • Current list of medications

Tips Before a Surgical Procedure

  • If you have received written information from us, please read it carefully.
  • Wear breathable, comfortable clothing.
  • Do not smoke before the procedure.
  • Arrive at the practice on time.
  • Ensure you get enough sleep the night before the procedure

Tips After a Surgical Procedure

  • Arrange for a family member or friend to pick you up. After anesthesia, you will not be able to drive yourself. Therefore, it is essential to have someone take you home after the treatment. If no one is available, we can arrange a taxi for you.
  • Rest on the day of your surgery! Your body needs to recover! If you want to lie down, support your head with a pillow to promote blood flow to your head and reduce swelling of the mouth and face.
  • Apply ice to your face. Cool your face throughout the day to reduce swelling.
  • Take the prescribed medications.
  • Eat soft foods. Make sure to consume only liquids or soft foods in the first one to two days after your oral surgery. Examples of soft foods include soups, yogurt, and mashed potatoes.
  • Maintain oral hygiene! Follow the instructions provided by us.

Cleaning Your Bite Splint

Thorough and regular cleaning of your bite splint is essential for hygiene reasons. Cleaning is simple.

  • Rinse your splint every morning immediately with warm water after removing it from your mouth. Use a toothbrush after rinsing to gently remove any remaining plaque or saliva. You can also use a non-abrasive toothpaste.
  • Once your bite splint is clean, make sure it is completely dry before storing it in its freshly disinfected case.
